2017 Highlights

Midnight Run in TOronto to start off 2017!

Midnight Run in TOronto to start off 2017!

It's been an eventful year.  I'm not sure if I had many expectations for 2017.  I'm in a transition in many areas of my life, and I've really just been going with the flow.  But I've accomplished many things in 2017 that I'm proud of.  Here's a recap of a few...

I saved for my future goals.

Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

As I've talked about in other posts, I recently made a move which enabled me to no only purchase a home, but also save more money,  This move certainly was not the end destination, but it;s given me the time and money to figure out what is.  I've been able to map out my OWN financial & future goals, and I feel great about them.

I Traveled More

Celebrating 100 years in TOronto

Celebrating 100 years in TOronto

When I lived in DC, I often felt like I was paying just to live there.  The high cost of living sometimes put my love of travel on the back seat, or limited my options.  This past year, I attended several hockey games that celebrated the NHL's 100th Anniversary.  I spent July 4th weekend in Montreal to commemorate Canada 150, and could pick up and visit friends whenever I pleased.  I feel grateful for all I've seen and experienced this past year!

I'm happy

I am happier than I've been in a LONG TIME. It's been a long road to get here, and I have no doubt I'm on the right path. I've stopped letting others' expectations influence my decisions. If it feels like someone is trying to project their own insecurities and fears onto your life, you need to just say "No!"  Even if it's family or a good friend.  Those that want to be in your life, and be happy for you will accept your choices.  Those that don't have probably already worn out their place in your life story, and might be better off left behind.

What's Next??

I'm looking forward to 2018.  I'm feeling hopeful, motivated, and focused.

I'm not making any apologies for my choices, I'm saying no to things that don't serve me well, and I'm moving on!

I've got plans for my blog and am working on a few other writing projects.  I signed up for some fun races to motivate my training.  Travel plans include Newfoundland/Labrador & Norway.  I hope to make a decision on my next big move.

I can't wait to take you all on my 2018 journey with me.  Don't forget to follow me on social media to stay up to date!!  (Links on the right..)

I wish you all a very happy and healthy new year!
