All items on this blog are things I use in my day to day life, and no one asked me to endorse them.
Often when I add a story on my Instagram, I get questions about some of the products I use. So, I thought I’d start sharing some of these great products and brands that I love. My plan (always subject to change) is to write up a short blog on a few items each month. You can also find a whole list of these items here, on My Favorite Things.
Here’s what I’m loving this month:
This humidifier is the bomb. It’s freezing cold, and planes and hotel rooms are super dry. I had seen some portable humidifiers around, but so many of them require a plastic bottle of water. Bottled water is quickly replacing straws as the most annoying and useless thing ever. It’s one of my pet peeves to go to a hotel lounge and find a million tiny little bottles of water in the fridge, so I certainly didn’t want to add to the mix. I did a little digging, and found this little wonder.
One of my resolutions this year is to try to focus on using less plastic- bottles, straws, everything. One of the easiest ways to start is to carry your own reusable steel straw. I have these, as well as these from Kleen Kanteen which have a rubber tip on them for drinking.
I keep on or two in my backpack, my briefcase, purse, and a few in my car. I’m happy to see so many places that don’t automatically give out straws, or have eliminated them all together, but I’m also trying to get into the habit of ordering drinks with “no straw” before the server grabs one. It’s a small change, but it can have a big impact on the way we think about how much waste we produce in our daily lives.
Since moving to Philly, I have discovered The Juice. They are an amazing local company that blend together some of the best juices and smoothies I’ve ever had. On top of that, they deliver right to your door (provided you live in Philly)! Recently, they came up with this delightful little blend called Chill Pill which incorporates 20mg of CBD oil. It’s perfect for recovering from a workout, or even a case of the Mondays. I’ve also found it is great addition to my night time ritual- between the CBD and activated charcoal, Chill Pill helps me wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world! Check out their whole menu here!
I am a recent convert to the Beauty Counter obsession. I’ve been searching for years for safer skin are and beauty products that are backed with results. I had been reading about various Beauty Counter products on social media, and decided to try a few things. I love charcoal bars and masks. I’ve used other brands in the past. But when I first tried Beauty Counter’s mask, I swear it cleared stuff out of my pores that may have been lurking there for decades. Seriously, it’s so effective, I was hooked after one use!
If you want clear pores, or need to control some irritated post-holiday skin (Hello, cheese! I’m looking at you…), I recommend giving this product a try. I know you’ll love it as much as I do. And if you want to browse the many other fabulous safer skin care & beauty items available from Beauty Counter, head on over to their website and treat yourself!
I”m pretty good at focus, but at times we all need a little boost. When I feel like I need to be sure I’m going to plow through a pile of work, or feel a bit stressed and scattered, I add some Four Sigmatic Lion’s Mane Elixir to my coffee or tea, and suddenly I feel like a super computer!
Lion’s mane has been reported to support both memory and concentration. This elixir also contains rose hips, rhodiola, mint, and a touch of stevia for sweetness. You can drink it straight in a cup of hot water or add it to your morning coffee or tea. I loved mushrooms to begin with, but Four Sigmatic has shown me just how much more they can do for me.
That’s my quick list for January. I hope you found something new to try- let me know what you loved in the comments, and look out for next month’s list!
