All items on this blog are things I use in my day to day life, and no one asked me to endorse them.
Often when I add a story on my Instagram, I get questions about some of the products I use. So, I thought I’d start sharing some of these great products and brands that I love. My plan (always subject to change) is to write up a short blog on a few items each month. You can also find a whole list of these items here, on My Favorite Things.
Here’s what I’m obsessing over this month…
Recently, I was looking to investigate and hopefully resolve some health and digestive issues. I had gotten little from the GI Doc I was seeing besides medication (she didn’t even bother to ask about my diet or eating habits). So I began the Autoimmune Paleo Protocol (AIP) to see what I could learn. While on AIP, I discovered these plantain chips.
These chips ended up being a great snack, and also a fantastic vessel for tuna salad or even nachos. I’m always looking for easy, portable foods that aren’t a bunch of processed crap. These chips are simply plantains, coconut oil and salt. They also come in a variety of flavors such as Brazilian BBQ!
Beauty Counter’s cleansing Balm consistently appears on so many “best of” lists. It’s no wonder, this product can not only be used as a cleanser, but as an overnight mask, Makeup remover, and rosacea treatment. Many have also used it to prevent windburn, stretchmarks, sooth cracked heels, dry baby skin, and more!
The Cleansing Balm was the first Beauty Counter product I tried, and I was quickly hooked. I wanted products that were safer, but also wanted quality and effectiveness. That’s exactly what I found with Beauty Counter! If you’re looking to add better beauty products to your daily routine, this product is a great place to start!
We all need to use less plastic. Even if you carry your own straw, did you know that up to 90% of plastic waste isn’t actually recycled? You can avoid adding to the plastic problem by carrying your own cup to get your daily caffeine fix. I love Yeti cups. They come in different sizes and colors, and are nearly indestructible.
This Yeti cup is 30 ounces, so it can hold enough coffee to get you at least part way through your morning! But it will also keep your beverage hot or cold for hours. And Starbucks fans will note that this cup is also the same size as their Trenta drinks. Reusable cups are a simple move towards sustainability that everyone can get on board with.
Every time I bring out this organizer, I’m asked about it. I tailor my vitamins and supplements to my needs, which often changes throughout the year. And since I travel on a regular basis, I wanted something to organize them that provides a little more function than the typical daily pill cases out there. This organizer does the trick, and keeps everything in it’s place.
This organizer has separate zip to envelopes for each of your pills, with labels to write on. You can even add or remove envelopes as needed.. (Purchase additional envelopes here.) It’s also soft-sided, so you can shove it into small open spaces in your bag!
The Autoimmune Paleo Cookbook
As I mentioned, above, I recently followed the Autoimmune Paleo Protocol (AIP) to research and resolve some health issues. If you’re thinking about doing AIP, or are just looking for some delicious recipes, check this book out!
Two of my favorite recipes are the Mediterranean Salmon Salad and the Carrot Ginger Soup. But you’ll also find recipes in the book for smoothies, snacks, and even desserts. I’m loving the way I feel since doing AIP. I’ve also reignited my love for cooking and meal prep. And ultimately, I have learned a few things about my eating and lifestyle habits which will help me feel at my best moving forward.
Let me know if you try any of these items in the comments. I look forward to bringing you a few more finds next month!
