Summer’s Over Shandy
Every now and then I crave a good Fall beverage. Something that screams Fall, but isn’t a fake flavored, over-hyped PSL. So, when the pumpkin beers started popping up, I decided to find a way to insert them into my game day rotation. Enter the Summer’s Over Shandy.
Shandy’a are typically made by mixing beer with something such as lemonade, ginger ale, or soda. This version, takes the Fall favorite pumpkin beer and combines it with another fall staple- apple cider. I have to admit, I’ve never been a fan of pumpkin beers, but I found this NA version from Go Brewing rather refreshing. No overbearing fake pumpkin flavor in this brew. It is, however, a limited run, so you’ve got to be ready to invest as soon as it hits the shelves.
You can make this Shandy with any pumpkin beer you like- non-alcoholic or not. However, I do recommend using a fresh, local applie cider from your local orchard or farmer’s market.
Happy Fall!
